IMPORTANT NOTICE
UPDATED LOCAL RULES 2008
With immediate effect, the following local rules replace those on the back of the current scorecards.
New scorecards are being designed with the latest local rules included.
Copies of the latest edition of the R & A Rules of Golf are available in the Pro Shop, Club Office and at the top of the stairs.
The march fence surrounding the course, the Eastern kerb of the approach road to the car park; a line from the white post leading to the professionals shop to a similar post at the North end of the wall behind the 1st Tee; the gravel strip before the wall at the 1st Tee, 2nd and 18th Greens (the chain link fence and posts may be removed to play a shot for a ball lying within bounds, if necessary); a line from the white post behind the 18th Green to a similar post on the bank at the South end of the Car Park (behind the 3rd Tee); within the perimeter fence surrounding the dam at the 4th Hole; beyond the boundary fence along the 7th Hole.
The following are classed as Immovable Obstructions and Relief may be taken under Rule 24-2:
a) All fixed artificial objects
b) The catchment Fence to the left of the Practice Area
c) All made up pathways, including wooden edgings
d) Young Trees identified by tags, stakes or surrounded by plastic tubes.
e) Fixed Sprinkler Heads (immovable obstructions close to putting green)
A ball lying on or so close to Rock that a normal shot is likely to cause damage to the club or injury to the player is entitled to relief under rule 25 -1.
Relief may not be taken simply by interference by Rock in the stance.
Stones and Rakes are classed as Moveable Obstructions (Rule 24-1 applies)
The burn to the right and behind the the 4th Green; the burn to the right of the 11th Hole and the burn to the right of the 17th Hole are all classed as Lateral Water Hazards.
