Bill Smeaton - Greens Convenor
Bill came out of the merchant navy in 1969 and started teacher training. In 1971 he was offered a teaching post at the Perth Academy, teaching Maths/Physics. Bill applied to join Craigie Hill Golf Club and was accepted in the 1974 season and his first handicap was 13. Bill says there was a lot more bushes then and he would lose at least one ball per round, but he still got down to single figure handicap the next year. Bill has worked at the club for a number of years, and the last four on the greens.
