'On Friday 18th August Carol Muir took part in the Scottish Ladies Golfing Association Barnardo's Grand Final competition at Arbroath Golf Club.

Carol MuirIn rather windy and misty conditions Carol scored 35 points (17 out, 18 back) and won a card countback against 2 other players who scored the same number of points.  She would have had a couple more points had someone not taken her ball on the 9th hole!

Carol had the better inward half from a 24 handicapper from Ravelston and 5 handicap player from Whitemoss.

Carol was presented with a new golf bag.  She was also meant to get a bottle of champagne but the representative from Barnardo's had dropped this prior to the presentation!

The competition raised over £2,500 for Barnardo's.'
