TRANSITION UPDATE
6/10/2025 Update
In my last email to you I said I'd keep everyone updated on progress with our Planning Application.
Since then, we continue to assess the grounds for refusal with our advisors and will assess the real option to appeal to the Scottish Ministers via the Directorate for Planning and Environmental Appeals, which is part of the Scottish Government. The principal argument is that we have material considerations outweighing policy and the fact that the site was not in the current local development plan.
We now have commitment from the senior planning team at PKC to attend an on-site meeting on the 28th October. This will provide the correct environment to discuss the future development potential of our golf club, with a focus on clubhouse challenges, site boundaries, and topography.
After we have had time to analyse all of the feedback from this session our intention is to hold a meeting at the Club, at a date still to be agreed, but sometime between the middle and late November, where we will be able to lay out the next few weeks, months and hopefully years for the Club and field any questions that you may have.
We will firm up on the meeting date as soon as we can and get that out to you as soon as possible but in the meantime if you have any queries then please feel free to give me a call.
Finally, please again be assured that regardless our Club is guaranteed to be open for business for the next 15 months and long after that with a fair wind. So, let’s look forward to the Winter league and onwards into 2026.
Dave Mitchell, Club Captain
